BattleVoice doesn't understand me!

Possibly the record level of the microphone is adjusted too high or too low. In system control "Speech" you can configure the microphone. Press the button "Configure microphone" and follow the instructions.
If that does not help, please try the training session, that can be activated in the same window.

Does BattleVoice work with TeamSpeak?

Yes, under Windows XP! But it is essential to configure Teamspeak to use DirectSound. The pure wave device does not work. If necessary, change the "Sound Driver" in the Settings/Options of Teamspeak from "Wave" to "DirectSound".

Yes!. Use BattleVoice 1.1 or greater.

Where can I see the allocation of the map numbers?

You can see the map numbers in the respective grammar.xml (e.g. bfvietnam.xml) in the programms directory (e.g. "C:\Program Files\BattleVoice") .

Can I add instructions to the Grammatik.xml's?

Please edit with Notepad or Wordpad!

To add a new rule you have to do the following:

1. Add a new RULE-tag within the GRAMMAR-tag like...

<RULE name="restart_map" TOPLEVEL="ACTIVE">

... where value of the name attribute must be unique and the value of
TOPLEVEL attribute must be ACTIVE. On runtime this creates a new rule
for the speech recognizer.

2. Now you have to specify the grammar for this rule...

<P PROPNAME="PID_Command" VALSTR="admin.restartmap">restart</p>

Generally a RULE-tag consists of one or more P-tags defining the
significant words of the rule.

The P-tag starts a new single word for the "restart_map" rule. At runtime
the speech engine must recognize the word "restart" to fire a rule event
"restart_map". When the event is captured, BattleVoice can read
the value of the PID_Command property which will be admin.restartmap".

This string will then be transfered to the remote server using the
game specific rcon protocol. P-tag says that it must regonize the word.
Alternativly you can use an O-tag to tell the grammar engine that it
is an optional word. This can be very useful if you want to support
filling words like "please", e.g.:

<O PROPNAME="PID_please" VALSTR="admin.restartmap">please</o>
<P PROPNAME="PID_Command" VALSTR="admin.restartmap">restart</p>

In this configuration the user can say "please restart" or just "restart"
to fire the command "admin.restartmap".

The L-tag encapsulates a list of P-Tags. The rule is fullfilled when
exactly one of these words defined by this List of P-tags is recognized.

What you have to know is that a rule will only be fired if all necessary
P-tags are recognized through their existing order.

3. Finaly don´t forget to close all tags.

What for is the checkbox "Messages debug" in BattleVoice?

If activated, BattleVoice shows additional debug information. This is usefull if nothing really works. The debug print out might give you a hint.

IMPORTANT: BattleVoice uses client port 49099 (udp) to receive messages from the FarCry server. To work properly you have to open this port in your router or firewall!
